Shutdown Festival takes place on the grounds of the Zwentendorf nuclear power plant in Lower Austria. The location is situated directly on the Danube, about an hour from Vienna, around 1:15h from Vienna Airport, and close to cities like Krems, Tulln, and St. Pölten.

Travel Options

By car

If you decide to come by car, we kindly ask you to form carpool groups for the sake of the environment. The address is: Sonnenweg 1, 3435 Zwentendorf an der Donau, Austria.

Kiss & Go: If you are being dropped off at Shutdown Festival, you can get out at the designated Kiss & Go areas. Please note that parking is not allowed here.

Parking: There are plenty of parking spaces available on site. Parking is done via the Parkster app. You can find more information here.

For safety reasons, overnight stays in cars in the parking area are not permitted.

Parking with the Parkster App

At Shutdown Festival, you park using the free Parkster app. This means there’s no need for a ticket scan at the entrance, you can simply and quickly drive into the parking lot and park.

Parking tickets can be purchased directly in the Parkster app (Zone 11123).

Kiss & Go

If you are being dropped off at Shutdown Festival, you can get out at the designated Kiss & Go area. Please note that parking is not allowed here.

If you plan to take a taxi home after the festival, please make a reservation in advance.

By taxi

You can take a taxi to get to the Shutdown Festival comfortably or to be picked up afterwards. The locations of the taxi stands can be found on our festival map, which will be released shortly before the festival.

As high demand is expected, we recommend booking your taxi in advance.

Train

Ă–BB will bring you conveniently to the nearest station, Tullnerfeld. In 2025, a shuttle from the station to the festival grounds was offered for the first time, along with a special train to Vienna Meidling after the festival.

HardTours / Organized Bus Travel

HardTours: The easiest way to get from your city directly to the Shutdown Festival and back home – book your trip to Zwentendorf through our travel partner HardTours. Celebrate with your crew already on the way there and get taken directly to the festival from cities Germany or Austria.

Organized Bus Trips: If you’re planning an organized bus trip to the Shutdown Festival, you need to register in advance using the form.
Registration is possible until Monday, August 3, 2026 – after that date, access to the festival grounds can no longer be granted for organizational reasons.

By plane

The Zwentendorf nuclear power plant is about 1:15h from Vienna Airport. Numerous direct flights from destinations worldwide make getting here easy.

At Vienna Airport, you can either rent a car or use public transportation to get to Shutdown Festival.

By bike or on foot

For those looking to warm up for the Shutdown Festival or staying nearby, you can travel to the Zwentendorf Nuclear Power Plant by bike or on foot. The Danube Cycle Path (Donauradweg) offers the perfect way to get there!

There will be plenty of bike racks on the event grounds to safely park your bike until your departure.
