The Shutdown Festival takes place at the site of the Zwentendorf Nuclear Power Plant in Lower Austria, about an hour outside of Vienna, 1:15h from Vienna Airport, and close to cities like Krems, Tulln, and St. Pölten. The location is directly on the Danube.

Travel Options

By car

To drive to the venue, enter the following address into maps: Sonnenweg 1, 3435 Zwentendorf an der Donau, Austria. Signs will guide you to the parking lot.

Parking:
There are plenty of parking spaces available on site. To ensure a fast and smooth parking experience, parking is paid for in the Parkster app. No ticket scan needed. You can find more information about this here.

For safety reasons, sleeping in your car overnight is not allowed.

Kiss & Go Points:
If you’re being dropped off at the Shutdown Festival, you can exit at the designated Kiss & Go points. Please note that parking is not allowed at these locations.

Parking with the Parkster App

At Shutdown Festival, you park using the free Parkster app. This means there’s no need for a ticket scan at the entrance, you can simply and quickly drive into the parking lot and park.

Parking tickets can be purchased directly in the Parkster app (Zone 11123).

Kiss & Go

Kiss & Go Points:
If you’re being dropped off at Shutdown Festival, you can exit the car at the designated Kiss & Go points. Please note that parking is not allowed at these locations. If you plan to take a taxi home after the festival instead of being picked up, please read the “Departure by Taxi” information and reserve a taxi in advance.

Train

The ÖBB conveniently takes you to the nearest station, Tullnerfeld.

NEW: This year, for the first time, there will be a extra ÖBB train departing from Tullnerfeld to Vienna Meidling at 1:30 AM.

Also NEW are shuttle buses running every 30 minutes between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM to take you to the festival grounds. Starting at midnight, they’ll take you back to the station.

NEW: Shutdown Shuttle

For the first time in 2025, there will be a shuttle service from Tullnerfeld Station to the Shutdown Festival grounds. Tickets for the shuttle are now available in the ticketshop and can also be purchased on-site.

10:00 AM – 4:00 PM (every 30 minutes)

Shuttle times back to the station:
From 12:00 AM

By plane

The Zwentendorf Nuclear Power Plant is about 1:15 hours from Vienna International Airport. Numerous direct flights from worldwide destinations make it easy to reach.

At Vienna Airport, you can either rent a car or use public transportation to get to the Shutdown Festival.

By bike or on foot

For those looking to warm up for the Shutdown Festival or staying nearby, you can travel to the Zwentendorf Nuclear Power Plant by bike or on foot. The Danube Cycle Path (Donauradweg) offers the perfect way to get there!

There will be plenty of bike racks on the event grounds to safely park your bike until your departure.

By taxi

You can easily take a taxi directly to the Shutdown Festival grounds. The locations of the taxi stands will be available on our festival map, which will be released shortly before the event. Due to the expected high demand, we recommend reserving your taxi in advance.

Local taxi companies are fully informed and will reliably take you to the venue and back to your desired destination.
