Dear SHUTDOWN COMMUNITY

unfortunately we have to inform you that Shutdown 2020 has to be cancelled. It's a tough step that comes as no surprise and has no alternative. But still, posting this message still hurts.

As of today (17. April 2020), the Austrian government has extended the ban on major events up to August 31st, which has been in effect since March 10th. This means our much-loved melting pot of harder styles - Shutdown Festival in August - is also being affected.

It will be a very quiet weekend this year in August at our favourite place next to the Donau river and we will really miss the peaceful, colorful and energetic party. But we remain positive and are convinced that no virus and no global pandemic will weaken the Shutdown Festival community. The Shutdown Army will return stronger than ever next year and celebrate an unforgettable Shutdown Festival 2021.

We understand that you have a lot of questions, of which the most important question will probably concerns the tickets. Starting on Wed 22. April on you will be able to easily swap your already purchased tickets to new Shutdown 2021 tickets or get a refund of the ticket price.

All details about the ticket refund/swap and information about Shutdown 2021 is available on www.shutdownfestival.at.

Stay healthy! See you in August 2021
Yours,
Shutdown Festival Crew

Basically no, as in previous years, there are different Early Bird phases, i.e. price levels, which are calculated in such a way that there is no advantage from refunds and new purchases. The final price for festival passes will not be raised and remains the same!

No, not at all! The price phases (Loyalty, Pre-Registration) that have been active for SD20 so far will be adjusted for SD21. In addition, the service fee that is charged by our ticket provider would then be paid twice. The exchange of the SD20 into an SD21 ticket is in any case the most financially attractive option.

We, as well as the majority of you, were very happy with the SD20 line up. We will try to take the positive aspects of the line up into the year 2021. We can't guarantee if the line up will be 100% the same, but we guarantee 100% that the line up will have at least the same quality as the SD20 line up. The genres, as they would have been represented in 2020, will be maintained or possibly extended.

We constantly work on developing Shutdown. This also includes stage concepts. We, as well as the majority of you, were very happy with the SD20 line up. All further information about Shutdown 2021 and the line up, stages, etc. will be presented in time as you are used to.

Although we are constantly working on further development, the mainstage will of course remain an elementary part of Shutdown as in the last years.

The division of the festival area is still in progress. As in the last years we will constantly try to improve the quality, comfort and practicability for you - so changes through this process may occur. However, we basically assume that little or nothing will change in the division of the festival area.

Update: 19th March 2020

Dear Shutdown visitors,

the prohibition on outdoor events with more than 500 people, which was announced on 10 March at a press conference of the Austrian Federal Chancellery, initially limited until the beginning of April, has been supplemented by a number of important measures in Austria, Europe and the whole world in recent days, which should help to bring the current state under control. We are monitoring the situation and have complete confidence in the experts responsible and are, of course, implementing the measures to protect the population.

Especially in times like these, it is only possible if we all pull together! Let´s all help so that the situation becomes calmer, the number of infections decreases, lives can be saved and normality can return.

Music unites, that's what it has always done! And music will continue to do so in the future and contribute to the fact that there is a community, even in bad times! What we have learned over the years as Shutdown Festival is, that most things are most beautiful together! However, we also have a responsibility, a responsibility for you visitors, for our employees, for suppliers, for the location, for DJs and artists and also one towards the whole society. From the current perspective, we still assume that Shutdown Festival can take place in August 2020, but this will only happen if Shutdown can be held safely and health is guaranteed.

Ticket transparency: In case of an officially ordered cancellation of the event due to coronavirus or SARS-CoV-2, we will refund the purchase price of the tickets in accordance with the regulations of our houserules & terms and conditions.

We would like to thank everyone who, in the current situation, are committed to others far beyond their own limits, who sacrifice themselves and do a great job! We wish you all good health, all those who have fallen sick a speedy recovery. Colleagues, clubs, musicians, artists, DJs, suppliers, local organisations etc. that they survive this time in good health, but also that they'll take the cancellations economically well and come back in full strength next year!

Yours Shutdown Team️

Shutdown Festival takes place

Dear Shutdown visitors,

on 10 March 2020, in a press conference, the Federal Chancellery of Austria announced that outdoor events with more than 500 people are not allowed to take place until the beginning of April due to the current situation around the so-called "coronavirus" or "COVID-19". According to this, the Shutdown Festival 8th of August 2020 is not affected, so we currently assume that the festival will take place as planned and that the virus no longer will be a big issue in August.

We are constantly monitoring the situation, trusting the responsible experts completely and, of course, we are implementing the measures to protect the population as far as they concern us.

We will do everything and try to ensure that Shutdown takes place safely and healthily.

In case of an official cancellation of the event because of the Coronavirus or COVID-19, we will refund the purchase price of the tickets according to the regulations of our houserules & terms and conditions.

We hope that our guests are in good health, and we wish those affected a speedy recovery! Additionally, we wish clubs, football clubs and our colleagues from Tomorrowland and Ultra (which should have taken place later this month), but also the suppliers and the local organizations that they´ll take the cancellations economically well and come back in full strength next year!

Yours Shutdown Team️
